Jacob Bostick has been selected as one of three recipients for the 2020 AAG Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Award in Geographic Science. The award consists of a cash prize of $1,000 and a certificate of recognition.
In her letter of recommendation, GES Department Chairperson Emily Skop noted that Jacob demonstrated key leadership ability through his undergraduate student experience at UCCS, including his participation in GLINT and JustTalk, his initiative in co-creating the “lunch with a prof” program, and as a student reviewer for the Green Action Fund. Though Jacob was not a GES major (he was a computer science major), he embraced all things geographical and made the most of his time here at UCCS.
Jacob is planning to embark upon a career or further education that will make use of his joint geographic science and computer science knowledge, potentially in geospatial technologies.
